Under Eleven’s Team narrowly defeated by Merewether. It was a game that both teams were in it to the end and a great display of rugby by both teams.
Under Fourteens also had an impressive game with a 26 to17 win over Merewether. Sealing the win with an impressive try on the bell .Phil Talaileva was also named Player of the match.

The time is almost here and excitement is brewing.!!!!!
Tomorrow at 8.50am Southern Beaches Under 11 take the field against Merewether in the Grand Finals. It is a long time since we have had an Under Elevens in a Grand Final and it is extremely exciting for all connected with Southern Beaches Rugby Club. Then at 11.30am the Mighty Under Fourteens are contesting the Grand Final for the second consecutive year
Just as exciting it is the first time a Southern Beaches Team has been able to contest a Grand Final on home soil since the club first competed in 1995. It is a great opportunity to show off what great facilities we have at our club since the redevelopment of Ernie Calland and Allen Davis Field
For these reasons it is important that every member possible of Southern Beaches Rugby be there in attendance to celebrate this great Event.

August 12th saw Beaches gain hold upon the cup that they had held at the end of 2017.After defeating Wanderers Beaches went on to scalp the Undefeated Hawkes at their home ground .First half was hard fought but the boys came with a different attitude in the 2nd half and Hamilton could not score any points to tick the scoreboard over .To retain the cup the boys had to hold out against the fast improving Greens who were in chase for a finals birth.Final game was up against Singleton by bus with the boys needing one more win to hold the cup for the second Year in a row.
Holding the Prestigious cup at the end of the season is both a great honour and a financial benefit for the Club as a whole .
Premier One left it till the bell in order to take the lead against Wanderers. In the final minutes a try to Sam Moss left the boys trailing by one point. It was left to a goal kick from the sideline to clench the match. Supporters held their breath as Adrian De lore had to take a kick from the sideline under windy conditions. No pressure!!!
The match had been a too and fro sort of game with a number of penalties being awarded for infringements at the ruck. Fortunately Beaches dug deep and played the full 80 minutes rather than give in to a defeat.
Beaches will now face Hamilton in thee Major Semi on Saturday 9th September at No. 2 Sportsground
Southern Beaches Premier One Team finished in 3rd place on the NHRU ladder Board. A pleasant note was that by defeating Hamilton in the 3rd last round Beaches not only knocked off The undefeated 1st placed Team but they took hold of the Hawthorne Cup that they had lost in the first round .The forwards have lifted to another level of confidence supported by backs out wide.
A bustrip to Singleton finished off the season for the boys who are now in Finals mode
Good Luck !!!!!
Last week saw three of Southern Beaches Juniors celebrate milestone in their Rugby Careers.
Congratulations to Michael De Lore on reaching 100 First Grade Games
Andrew De Lore on playing 150 Grade Games of which were predominately Premier One
Peter Madden on playing 150 Grade Games and scoring a great intercept try in P1
The mighty 4ths played their first game last night at home. We came second on the field but were certainly the crowd pleasers!
This Team, pulled together in last 10 days, has had 1 training session, and put up a credible performance with a lot of untapped talent still to come through.
27 tubes of Dencorub, 3.7km of strapping tape and 52kg of ice later, but everyone had a great time and were proud to pull on our Club Jersey! I take my hat off to you guys! Hope some of you can still walk today!
Last night showed what a “family” Beaches has become. We welcomed and mingled with new and old players, from our team and the opposition.
Huge thank you to Coaches, Trainers, Managers and all support Staff last night. Thanks to all our supporters, friends and Families. Awesome effort by Mick and Wayne, who are always there for the Club… I cant even think of a word to thank the current players who helped last night, looking back, we could not have done the great job without you guys, we didn’t expect the numbers that came along, nice to see Andy Fairfull and his son at the game.
I hope everyone enjoyed the night as much as I did, we learnt a lot and will do even better next home game!
